From Italy To England, Patrick Viera Becomes A Manchester City Player.
January 8, 2010 in Transfer by Angela Asante
France veteran midfielder Patrick Viera is finally a Manchester City player. Speculations didn’t take long to be confirmed. Viera has left Italy, the Seria A, and the Giuseppe Meazza stadium.
The former Arsenal superstar will embrace English Premier League football and ex-Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini once again.
According to Patrick Viera, playing for Manchester City will give him the chance to feature at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
Speaking before the final agreement, Patrick Viera explained to Canal +, a popular French TV station:
“I’m no longer in the technical plans of the coach [Jose Mourinho] at Inter. I want to prove to Roberto Mancini [Manchester City’s new boss] that I’m the same player that I used to be when he was with the Nerazzurri.
“The transfer to City is going to help me attend the next World Cup.”
Today, Patrick Viera’s transfer has officially been revealed to the media.
The 33-year-old who spent five years under Inter Milan’s jersey will earn £ 100,000 per week and could be appointed captain of Manchester City’s Sky Blues.
